Manor Park Busing Update from HRCE

This notice was sent to all families regarding busing!

 

Dear Families and Students,

We greatly appreciate the patience and support that families have shown this week as students return to school. The adoption of a new provincial School Transportation policy and the introduction of new bus service providers in any year would be a challenge, but this year, as we navigate all the new practices for our students and staff, it is even more difficult.

Regardless of the size of the challenge, we do not feel the service some families have received is acceptable. We will be making adjustments to routing this weekend to improve service.

• Be sure to check your email inbox this Sunday for notifications about potential route changes. You can also review your routing information on your BusPlanner Parent Portal account at https://hrcetransportation.mybusplanner.ca.

• Notifications will come to families for all late buses as our system settles over these next few weeks.

• Our Transportation Team is working to resolve a backlog of requests to ensure your information is entered correctly in BusPlanner (including updating incorrect alternate addresses).

Increasing staffing at our service providers is a key piece to support our system and improve service. School bus drivers play an important role in getting students to school safely and on time.

We want to take this opportunity to direct anyone who may be interested in transportation work to Student Transportation of Canada, Southland Transportation, and National Passenger Services (Canada) to view available opportunities.

While we have seen improvement every day since Tuesday, we want to assure families that we will continue to work with our providers daily to improve routing, ensure timely notifications and correct safety and efficiency problems as they arise.
